What's new in the Builder
Each release has a name, like a race car: VLTA-01, then VLTA-02. Every account gets each one automatically.
VLTA-03 · Readable everywhere
- Share your sponsor page on WhatsApp, iMessage or LinkedIn and the preview now shows your driver, number and colours, from your newest page photo.
- A new caption tone, Like a parent: the same facts in warmer words, with Try other words for another version.
- The week planner now picks a style you have not used lately, names the partner who has gone longest without a thank-you, and suggests the season review in the off-season.
- A locked style now says what it costs to use, and can always be saved free in Depth instead.
- Photo strips load small copies of your photos, so the Builder opens faster on a phone.
- The Builder answers a tap at once, even on older phones: the preview is drawn at the size your screen shows it, and saving, sharing and video still draw at full size.
- Season over? Billing now has Pause instead, beside Cancel: nothing is charged until the date you pick, and it starts again by itself. Cancelling is still one step.
- The dashboard checklist now goes photo, first post, colour, race dates, in the order that gets you to your own post soonest.
- Installing VLTA on your home screen now keeps the Builder and Race day ready for no signal straight away.
- New in the Builder: Best of several. Pick a batch of photos and VLTA ranks them on your phone: sharp, car big and whole in the frame, well lit. Only the one you pick is uploaded.
- Phone notifications, off unless you turn them on in Account: one when a race week post is drafted for you, and one on race morning. Nothing else.
- On iPhone the Builder's bottom bar is solid, so nothing shows through behind the buttons.
- VLTA can now be added to your phone's home screen as an app. Race day, the Builder and the Driver kit keep working without signal once you have opened them on that phone, and signing out clears what it kept.
- New in the Driver kit: the season review, a four-slide carousel from your results that ends with a thank you to every partner.
- A finished sample post can go straight to saving with Save it now, and there is a new page showing a whole race weekend from Thursday to Monday.
- New: Race day. One phone screen for the circuit: tap the session, tap the position, save the story. The caption is copied for you. Open it from the dashboard.
- The Driver kit now has a welcome post, story and partner wall for your partners (captions start with #ad), a printable sticker sheet (A4) and awning board (A3) as PDFs, and a bio for each platform.
- New: the Driver kit. Profile pictures, banners for X, Facebook, LinkedIn and YouTube, a season calendar and a race-weekend timetable (feed and story), all in your colour and number. Save one, or save everything in one go. Open it from the dashboard.
- On a phone the Builder is now one screen: the page no longer scrolls, the preview stays at the top and shrinks while you scroll the options, and Next is always at the bottom.
- Nothing in the app is wider than a phone any more. Tables turn into cards on small screens, and the monthly figures form fits the screen instead of sliding sideways.
- Delta frames the photo above its band, so the car sits in the middle of what you can see.
- A new home page hero: a full-width wall of real posts, one for each style, and our own Instagram posts further down the page.
- The home page loads faster on a phone: the cutout tool only downloads when you choose your own photo (it used to fetch about 15MB on its own), the hero picture is lighter and the logos are a quarter of the size.
- Every style's small labels (grid, finish, points, the series line and the credit) are now at least twice the size, so they read on a phone feed, not just on a big screen.
- On a result, your finishing position is now the biggest thing in the stats row in most styles, so it reads even as a small square in your grid.
- Three new styles: Swiss (your photo over a clean paper panel), Banner (your name up the side, your finish huge) and Delta (where you started and where you finished, side by side).
- Three premium styles made from your cutout, automatically on any photo: Echo (a trail of your car in your colour), Spotlight (the photo drops to night and your colour glows round the edge) and Breakout (the driver breaks out of a framed photo).
- Fewer, better styles: ten that only suited some photos are retired, leaving 18 that work across karts, cars and bikes. Posts made in a retired style open in the nearest one that is left.
- Two new styles in the new look: X-Ray (your driver as glowing line work, scanned into the real photo) and Proof (your photo framed like a contact sheet, with your result in a column beside it). 20 styles in all.
- Long championship names now fit every style: they shrink a little, then shorten, instead of running into your number.
- A new home page opening: a race photo across the whole screen with the result standing huge behind the driver, the way the Builder draws it.
- Flip: in Echo and Motion, one tap turns the speed trail round so it streams out behind your car. In Banner it moves your name to the other side. Your choice is saved with the post.
- A new post type, Your own words: a small top line, your headline, a line under it and one big number if you want one.
- The Builder is easier to use: the best styles come first, every style has its picture, the page scrolls as one, and on a phone the preview shrinks while you scroll so the step gets the screen.
- Depth is now free on every account.
- The app pages are softer and calmer: rounded panels instead of outlined boxes, a clearer set-up list, and content that uses the full width.
- Stories keep a little more clear space at the bottom, where Instagram puts its reply bar.
- Labels are set in a clean text face with tighter spacing, instead of small typewriter capitals.
- The line above the driver's name never touches the name, and stays readable over a busy photo.
- The Builder is the same step-by-step editor on a computer as on a phone: the post large on a lit stage, one step at a time beside it.
- If you cancel during your first week, we refund the days you have not used.
VLTA-02 · Race week posts
- Four new posts: Predict the result (asks your followers where you will finish), Lights out (the race start time), Track guide (length, corners and your best lap) and Throwback (an old photo and the year).
- They work in all 22 styles, with captions written for you that only say what you typed.
- Race week kit: every post for the week in one zip (build-up, predict, track guide, lights out, qualifying, result, thank-you), with each caption and the day to post it.
- Your own caption sign-off and up to three hashtags, set once on your profile and added to every caption.
- Simpler sign-up: who it is for, your name, email and password. Then just your driver's name to start.
- On phones, Help is now an icon at the top, so it never covers what you are typing.
VLTA-01 · Launch
- 22 styles for your posts. Paddock is free on every account.
- A step-by-step Builder on phones: photo, result, style, save.
- One colour grade across the photo styles, with fine grain and a soft vignette, so a phone photo looks finished.
- Places gained from the grid are shown next to your finish, and on the weekend-in-numbers carousel slide.
- Smart framing: the driver is lifted clear of the words on full-photo styles, with a small zoom when the photo needs it. Move and zoom still work on top.
- The driver casts a soft shadow onto big type standing behind them, in Depth, Headline, Neon, Magazine, Podium and Pit Board.
- A Help button on every page, for a bug, a question or an idea. It tells us which page and step you were on, so you do not have to.
- Broadcast in TV-graphics panels, Lights Out with real start-light lamps, Split with a printed colour block and your car number in outline, and Colour Wash with light behind the driver.
