How to make your motorsport profile sponsor-ready

Before a business replies to a sponsorship ask, someone there looks you up. What they find decides whether they reply. Here is what they check, and how to get each part right.

1. Can they tell who you are in five seconds?

Your name, your number, your series and class, and where you are based. Put them at the top, in that order. A local business wants to know you race near them and that you are real. Leave out anything they have to work out.

2. One good photo, not twenty average ones

Lead with your best action shot: the car or kart in focus, the driver visible, no cluttered background. Then a clean portrait in race kit. A sponsor is picturing their logo on that car, so show them the car. Use photos you have the right to use, and credit the photographer if they ask you to.

3. Results, honestly

List this season round by round: circuit, grid, finish, points. Include the bad weekends. A sponsor does not expect you to win every race. They want to see progress and someone who turns up. A clear record also stops anyone asking where a claim came from.

4. Your audience, with where the numbers came from

Followers, reach and engagement on each platform you use, for the last month. Say where each number came from: read from Instagram Insights, from TikTok analytics, or typed in by you. Small but real beats big and vague. If most of your followers are local, say so. That is often what a local business is paying for.

5. What they get, and what it costs

Most driver pages stop at "sponsors wanted". The business then has to guess what you mean, and most will not bother. Set out two or three packages with a price on each: a logo on the car and posts, a race-day visit, a named round. Say how long each lasts and what they get every month. If you would rather talk about money first, say "from" a price, but give a starting point.

6. One easy way to get in touch

A short enquiry form or a single email address. Not a list of DMs across four apps. Reply within a couple of days. If the driver is under 18, make it clear a parent or guardian handles enquiries.

A quick check before you share the link

  • Name, number, series, class and area at the top
  • One strong action photo and one portrait
  • This season's results, round by round
  • Last month's audience numbers, with where each came from
  • Two or three packages with prices
  • One way to get in touch, and who answers it

Do it in VLTA

  2. Upload your photos and choose which ones show on your sponsor page.
  3. Add your results on the Results page, round by round.
  4. Set out your packages and prices on the Sponsors page.
  5. Publish. Your page gets its own link, with an enquiry form, to put in your bio and your emails.
